The Motorola VHF VX451 series radios takes worker safety to a new level with its built-in Emergency and Lone Worker alerts. The emergency notification feature is user-initiated with a press of a button for the radio to switch to a designated channel and send an alert for help. Lone Worker mode is a built-in timer that requires the user to reset at a predetermined interval. If not reset, the radio automatically switches to Emergency mode to alert help.
Do you require constant contact with your workers at all time, the Motorola exclusive Auto-RangeTranspond System (ARTS™) is included to inform the user that other ARTS equipped radios are within communication range.
And since no two job sites are alike, the optional Man Down function (with DVS-9 unit) can be program to monitor a variety of worker timed safety scenarios vertically andhorizontally as well as worker degree of motion. Adjusting the settings of the 3-axissensor adapts the radio to each distinct work environment to monitor movement.
The VX451 Series withstands job site abuse meeting military s for ruggednessand meets the IP57 ingress protection where water does not harm the radiowhen submersed to a depth of 3 feet for up to 30 minutes, providing a solid build for Extreme Environments.
From it's 700 mW loud crystal clear audio output for noisy work environments and the Channel Announcement which loudly speaks the channel description to simplify changing channels when focused on other tasks simultaneously.

This radio is fully compatible with the following Motorola Radios: BPR40, CP185 (with encryption) and all CP200, CP200XLS and CP200D (analog mode).
The Motorola VX451 VHF radio is a good choice if you plan to use the radio outdoor only and in an area that's relatively free of obstacles such as trees and buildings. Very high frequency signals travel further than UHF but does not provide the penetrating characteristics of UHF. VHF is also a better choice when traveling. Please check your existing radios to make sure that this Motorola VX451 VHF radio is compatible.
