However the radio user need to accept some responsibility. It doesn&#039;t matter how tough these radios are, they will not survive a meteor hit, getting thrown in an active volcano, getting run over by a train or dropping the radio from the Eiffel Tower.

Although I have to admit, I have seen a Motorola 2-Way Radio survive a 27 floor drop. It was not to pretty to look at, but it did work. Can not give you an average on how many will survived, but this one did , but I do not recommend it.

Congratulations, you actually got me stomped on this one. After checking with our IMPRES engineers in Schaumburg, the short answer is &quot;YES&quot; you are correct.

Now for the long and technical answer.

First the disclaimer, the following scenario does not apply if you press the PTT button on the radio at any given time. This brings into play other variables.

Second, some facts you need to be aware of.

#1 The IMPRES system will check the status of a battery every five minutes after a complete charge.

#2 For The Motorola Professional Series Radios, the system will charge at a rate of 1250ma per hour.

#3 For the Motorola XTS Series, the system will charge at a rate of 1500ma per hour.

OK, now that the facts and disclaimer are out of the way.

Let say that at 3:00pm your XTS Radio which is turned on is now fully charged and still in the IMPRES charger. 30 seconds after 3:00pm it starts to monitor an extremely long conversation that last for a full 4 minutes and 59 seconds. The IMPRES charger than checks the battery at 3:05 and will determine if the battery needs an extra boost to bring it up to full capacitances.

However if you where to remove your radio just before the 5 minute window and you&#039;ve been monitoring an extremely long conversation, the battery would not be 100% fully charged.

If it does not split after one drop they run the whole batch.  Never again does Multiplier do the drop test.  500  1,000 or more it does not matter.  As long as one passes the 1 meter drop test.  As soon as one passes they will start the run and Multiplier will not waste too many batteries trying.  If things do not go well they will change the height requirement.
